It was solely on the basis of The Grand Inquisitor, excerpted in the text for a freshman philosophy class, that I picked up and read The Brothers Karamazov. That was so long ago, I think it is time for a reread. Interesting point about Solzhenitsyn. He is on my TBR list but I really don't know where to start with him. Do you have a suggestion? So far from my reading of Austen (which isn't very extensive), I am with you, but I am fond of Dickens. Thanks for the insight and could I get one front row seat for the cage match:)</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4972764383963459152/4717910505956046288/comments/default/4446653161167418960'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4972764383963459152/4717910505956046288/comments/default/4446653161167418960'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.bookphilia.com/2009/03/reading-lamp-gogol-vs-dostoevsky-cage.html?showComment=1238262780000#c4446653161167418960' title=''/><author><name>Book Psmith</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/12387313238448432017</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://www.bookphilia.com/2009/03/reading-lamp-gogol-vs-dostoevsky-cage.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4972764383963459152.post-4717910505956046288' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/4972764383963459152/posts/default/4717910505956046288' type='text/html'/></entry></feed>
